MINNESOTA: Monalisa Perez, 19, shot her boyfriend, Pedro Ruiz III, 22, while shooting footage for a YouTube channel.
Law enforcement said in this NYT article that they do not know what this young couple was thinking when they decided to film themselves pulling what was supposed to be a YouTube 'stunt' for viewer ratings hoping it would gain them fame and fortune.
These two people weren't so young that they didn't receive adequate enough education as children that warned them about the dangers of playing around with a loaded gun (or unloaded gun).
Perez was charged with 2nd Degree Manslaughter and could serve 10 years and be find $20,000, [Say What? Is that all the time she's going to get and fine she's going to pay?] says NYT. Maybe the judge took into account both of these people's naivety and apparent lack of cognitive skills.
